MeiofaunaBrasil: 3 years!

Today we are celebrating 3 years of Meiofauna Brasil on air...

Maybe some of you can remember that in the begining was all in Portuguese, than with 6 months we've decided to translate everything to English.

In the second year of Meiofauna Brasil we migrated for the new format of Blogger which have new resources including the possibility of marking our posts with keywords. We also started to send periodical updatings for a selected e-mail list (based on the adresses in THIRIMCO). If somebody wants to be included just contact us in our e-mail: meiofaunablogspot@gmail.com

In the third year we changed our layout for this new beautiful blue version (very well done by Priscila). We also reorganized the links and added a new research resource using Google which makes the looking for specific subjects quiet easier than before.

Furthermore we created profiles on Twitter (http://twitter.com/meiofaunabrasil) and Orkut (http://www.orkut.com.br/Main#Profile.aspx?origin=is&uid=7313733478867360227 (it is necessary to be joined)!

What we really expect is to spread more an more the Meiofauna Brasil website and "popularize" our fascinating animals!

We know that there is still much to improve and specially concern the need of keeping it more updated. Sometimes it is a quite difficult task with all our activities but we will continue...

We also would like to use the opportunity to ask our dear visitors to give their suggestions and help us sending news about meiofauna. So, feel free to send us your comments and sugestions!

MEIOFAUNA BRASIL IS FOR YOU… COMENT ON AND CONTRIBUTE TO MAKE IT ALWAYS BETTER!

Thanks for all meiobenthologists and lovers of these fantastic animals!

5th Brazilian Crustaceans Congress

"On behalf of the Sociedade Brasileira de Carcinologia it is a great pleasure for me to invite you to participate in our V Congresso Brasileiro sobre Crustáceos (5th Brazilian Crustaceans Congress), which will be held in Gramado (Hotel Serra Azul), Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, from 10th to 13th November 2008.

The scientific program at the Congress will cover all of the major disciplines of Carcinology, including Morphology, Physiology, Ecology, Biology, Systematics, Taxonomy and Farming and Growing Crustaceans. In addition we are highlighting special themes that will run through each day anchored by a Plenary Lecture by a world expert in that field, and featuring a Symposium and Workshop on that theme. In addition, we welcome your current work as a submitted paper or poster. Sessions of submitted papers - will run daily during the Congress.

I hope that the mixture between the rich and challenging scientific atmosphere of the Sociedade Brasileira de Carcinologia, and the never ending attraction of the city and the nearby landscape of Gramado will convince everyone to attend this Congress. The Organizing Committee and I are certain that you will find the meeting both enriching and enjoyable, and look forward to seeing you in Gramado in November 2008".

Welcome!!!

Meiobenthic Greetings!

It’s a pleasure to inaugurate the first blog exclusively about Meiofauna in Brazil.
The home page idea appeared when we noted the scarce information available in the internet about the meiofaunal studies in Brazil.
The purpose of this blog is to spread the works, news and events of interest to the meiobenthologists.
We take the opportunity and invite you to contribute with suggestions, texts and relevant information concerning specific groups and/or meiofauna in general.
