FourtIMCo has began! Win a T-shirt from Meiofauna Brasil!
The most important event of meiofauna this year, the FourtIMCo, started officially yesterday and we from MeiofaunaBrasil are here in Ghent.
We hope that everybody is enjoying the event as we are!
For the traditional raffle we offered a T-shirt from MeiofaunaBrasil. We hope that will make somebody very happy!

MeiofaunaBrasil: 3 years!
Today we are celebrating 3 years of Meiofauna Brasil on air...
Maybe some of you can remember that in the begining was all in Portuguese, than with 6 months we've decided to translate everything to English.
In the second year of Meiofauna Brasil we migrated for the new format of Blogger which have new resources including the possibility of marking our posts with keywords. We also started to send periodical updatings for a selected e-mail list (based on the adresses in THIRIMCO). If somebody wants to be included just contact us in our e-mail: meiofaunablogspot@gmail.com
In the third year we changed our layout for this new beautiful blue version (very well done by Priscila). We also reorganized the links and added a new research resource using Google which makes the looking for specific subjects quiet easier than before.
Furthermore we created profiles on Twitter (http://twitter.com/meiofaunabrasil) and Orkut (http://www.orkut.com.br/Main#Profile.aspx?origin=is&uid=7313733478867360227 (it is necessary to be joined)!
What we really expect is to spread more an more the Meiofauna Brasil website and "popularize" our fascinating animals!
We know that there is still much to improve and specially concern the need of keeping it more updated. Sometimes it is a quite difficult task with all our activities but we will continue...
We also would like to use the opportunity to ask our dear visitors to give their suggestions and help us sending news about meiofauna. So, feel free to send us your comments and sugestions!

Tribute to Prof. Fonseca-Genevois during VIII BIOINC
The "VIII Encontro de Bioincrustação, Ecologia Bêntica e Corrosão" (VIII Meeting of Bioincrustation, Benthic Ecology and Corrosion) happened last week, in 27-31 July 2009 and, as we noticied here previously, honored Prof. Dra. Verônica Fonsêca Genevois this year with a Tribute.
Fot those who do not know Dra. Fonsêca-Genevois, she is the precursor of meiobenthic studies in Brazil. During her carreer she already supervisioned 7 PhD, 27 master and 12 graduation works.
We from Meiofauna Brasil were present in this important moment for Brazilian meiobenthologists making some videos and photos. Currently the videos are being edited and subtitled. Soon we will update here with all videos and photos. For now, enjoy one of the after-tribute photos.

VIII BIOINC will honor Dra. Verônica Genevois!

Meiofauna Brasil - N E W L O O K ! ! !
Finally!!! The dream is coming true!!!
There's long time we have thought about a new look for Meiofauna Brasil ...
Well, I really would liked to have launched the new version last month, when we completed our 2nd birthday on air... unfortunately, it was not possible.
However, a new year is coming and I think there's still time to show this "new face":
The New Meiofauna Brasil Website - More Meiofaunistic and More Brazilian than ever!!!
I take this opportunity to dedicate this surprise as a Christmas gift to my great/best friend and partner Virág (she hasn't seen anything here!) ... Virag: it's "all blue"... the way you like!

Now the websites which linked MEIOFAUNA BRASIL on their homepages are stood out on the side bar
New links were added in the side bar on:

Besides, Brazilian Meiofauna Orkut Communities were also included in the side bar

6 MONTHS ON AIR!
Today is an important date to the Meiofauna Brasil, we are celebrating 6 months on air!
And all celebration brings a good time with some news…
In fact, after these six months, we noted that it would be impossible to spread the “Brazilian News” on Meiofauna or even share international events and articles if we kept writing in Portuguese… then we decided to translate all the Blog and Posts into English. We understand that it’s the best way to keep contact with our colleagues abroad, giving them a chance to participate with comments or suggestions and of course, not excluding people from Brazil who are able to do it in English or Portuguese.
Nothing has changed, only the language!
Don’t forget: MEIOFAUNA BRASIL IS FOR YOU… COMENT ON AND CONTRIBUTE TO MAKE IT ALWAYS BETTER!

Happy New Year!!!
The blog Meiofauna Brasil wish a Happy 2007 to all meiobenthologists and visitors of this site!
Make 2007 a year full of new projects, discovering of new species and new partnerships!
2007 promises be a great year because, beyond many things, we will have the THIRIMCO here in Brazil, organized by the meiobenthologists from Brazil.
Keep the eyes on the counting here: only 6 months and 29 days!!! And soon we intend to post here a revision about the International Conferences of Meiobenthology... So, keep your eyes on Blog Meiofauna Brasil.. And see you in 2007!

Happy Christmas!!!
It is our first Christmas since we criated this blog dedicated exclusively to meiofauna in Brazil. We hope contribute to this Science in Brasil and join more all meiobenthologists.
