EUMAINE applications for academic year 2011-2012



The application for European Master of Science in Nematology (EUMAINE) for academic year 2011-2012 is already open!

The European Master of Science in Nematology (EUMAINE) is one of the Erasmus Mundus Master courses. The EUMAINE programme brings together some of the European leading Universities and Research Institutes active in Nematology and is offered by a network of 8 partners, consisting of 4 consortium partners and 4 supporting or satellite partners. Ghent University is the coordinating university.

Application deadline for academic year 2011-2012:

EU students: 15 April 2011
Non-EU students: 1 January 2011
When you do not apply for an Erasmus Mundus grant: 1 May 2011

Location for the 6th International Congress of Nematology Announced

We are pleased to inform you the recent announcement of decision about the location of 6th International Congress of Nematology.

The event will be organized by the Nematological Society of Southern Africa (NSSA) and the congress is planned to 2014.

This year the Society of Nematologists will be holding between July 11-14, 2010, their 49th Annual Meeting in Boise, Idaho.

Student Travel Award Applications are now being accepted with submission deadline: April 30, 2010.

The abstract submission deadline is also 30 April.

PINC: Application for academic year 2010-2012 is open!



The application for PINC (Post-graduation International Nematology Course) academic year 2010 - 2012 is open!!!

The scholarship granted by the Flemish interuniversity council and university development cooperation is oriented towards students and professionals from countries from the following list: VLIR country list. The VLIR scholarship programme is particularly aimed to people from developing countries with a minimum of professional experience who occupy key or strategic positions at an institution in their native country. The opportunities for knowledge application and transfer after the scholar returns home are an important scholarship selection criterion. Other admission requirements refer to: age, education, motivation, language, gender, financial resources.

With the support of the Belgian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation, each year 12 scholarships are assigned to students applying for the Master of Nematology.

Conference "Advances in Nematology 2009"



The Association of Applied Biologists (AAB) is organizing for 15th of December the "Advances in Nematology 2009" conference to be held at Linnean Society of London, Piccadilly.

This conference invites contributions from all areas of nematology. It actively invites students to participate, both in the platform presentations and poster session. A prize is given for the best student oral presentation.

Papers will be published as 1-page Abstracts. The deadline for submission of papers is 30 september 2009.

ONTA Travel Awards for the 2nd ICTN



The ONTA (Organization of Nematologists of Tropical America) Foundation is offering three graduate student travel awards to attend the 2nd International Congress of Tropical Nematology that will be held in Maceio. Each of the awards will be in the amount of $700 (USD). Submission must be received by July 10, 2009.

SON Student Travel Award!



Dow AgroSciences has provided the Society of Nematologists with funds to support graduate student travel to attend the 2009 Meeting of SON. At least four awards of $500 (USD) each will be given to students presenting papers (oral or poster presentations).

The Nathan A. Cobb Foundation is pleased to request applications for three graduate student travel awards to attend the Society of Nematologists 48th Annual Meeting. Each award will be in the amount of $700 (USD).
