2nd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON AQUATIC RESOURCES:

Organized by The National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, Egypt

OBJECTIVES:

To introduce and share experience, inputs / outputs of resource management.

To present and discuss the principles to the optimum use and sustainable development of the marine environment, the coastal areas and the associated ecosystems, such as coastal lagoons, estuaries, river basins and wetlands.

To provide an updated overview on sustainable fisheries and aquaculture for marine and freshwater species.

To review the present status of marine environment in selected marine and coastal areas, with particular attention to "hot spots", and with special reference to the impact of land-based activities, global worming. climate change and sea level rise on these areas.

To introduce international experiences in the field of marine informatics in relation to the integrated zone management (ICZM) and sustainable development.
To acquire better understanding of the marine natural hazards, e.g. Harmful Algal Blooms, marine earthquakes and tsunamis.
