The Oligochaeta...

The Oligochaeta are considered a class, sometimes a subclass (within the class Clitellata), within the Annelida.Oligochaetes families with meiobenthic species are only found within the order Tubificida, Narapidae, Capilloventridae, and Randiellidae.
Meiobenthic oligochaetes occur in a great variety of aquatic habitats. In freshwater, they are largely confined to the coarse sands and gravels of lakes and river beds or associated with the vegetation. In any given area, the sublittoral oligochaetes can generally be divided into two assemblages, one characteristic of muddy bottoms and one, often richer in species, in coarse sands and gravel.
